How to create a user profile
Before you’ll be able to sign in you will have to create your D4A user profile. On the top right corner of the home page, you will see a button Sign up. By clicking the button you will land on the page where you’ll need to fill in your information and agree to our terms and conditions.
The next step is to click on the button Create account, you will receive an email which you’ll have to confirm. Lastly to finish the process you will have to open the confirmation email and click on the button Confirm my address or open the link below the button.
How to put your item on D4A
Everyone has some stuff at home that they are trying to get rid of and maybe make some money or help someone to find what they are looking for.
Posting a listing on D4A is real easy. All you have to do is to create a profile (if you haven't already) and log in. Then you just press the button + Post a new listing on the top right corner of the page next to your profile icon. Then you will have to select a category based on what you’re selling and who it is meant for.
When the category is picked you will land on the page where the listing is created. All you now need to do is to fill out the boxes and provide the information of the post. You insert the listing title and decide on the selling price. Make sure you read the D4A fee and a payment processing fee, so you can avoid any unexpected surprises. The way the item you are selling will be delivered is in your hands, you and the buyer can decide on the delivery method that you think is the most suitable and easiest for both.
If you select shipping then you have to state the shipping fee (we are working on the shipping calculator that will provide an accurate cost of the shipment). That way the seller is not responsible for covering the costs of the shipping. The second delivery method is a pickup in person. In that case seller and the buyer work out the details and meet face to face, if it is possible we advise this method because you can inspect the item you are buying in person.
When you are writing the description of the product make sure to go in as much detail as possible, that way when you are contacted by the buyer you can get straight to the point.
Our suggestion for the means of shipping abroad is that you look up Eurosender. They specialise in logistic services and are very adaptable and affordable. On their website, they also thoroughly explain the process of shipping and what you have to pay attention to. If you are not able to find the solution on their website we suggest that you contact their help-desk. You can also turn on your country’s official postal service like in example (postal service of Slovenia) for the shipments within your country.
When entering your location make sure that your location matches the location on the google map below.
To post an image you just click on the box that says Select file and find the image you are looking for on your computer. Then all you have to do is to click on the image and press the button choose. If the image is not uploaded immediately just wait a few seconds because the image is being processed. Make sure that the images of the product you are selling are well lit and in focus so the buyers will be able to see the condition of the item. The quality of the image will be best if you use the JPG or PNG images that are 660x440 pixels in size.
The last step before the post goes live is to click on the button Post listing and just like that, you will be a seller on the D4A.
How to edit the listing
To edit the post all you have to do is to click on the button Edit listing, you can find the button below the price of the item on the listing itself. Then you will be sent to the same page as you were on when you were creating the listing, there you’ll be able to edit the elements of the listing. Don’t forget to post the new listing again in order to save the changes.
What are the costs
There are two types of costs that you have to consider. The cost of shipping that has to be worked out between the seller and the buyer and is largely dependent on the location, size and weight of the item you are selling. The cost of shipping can be calculated with the shipping cost calculator, which we suggest you use to estimate the average cost when you are setting the shipping fee
D4A is a platform that is meant to make the mobility of the disabled more accessible and affordable. That being said we do not charge anything to join our site or post the ads. Our only income is the fees we take when our customers sell or purchase an item. The additional fee is the one from PayPal that we do not have the ability to alter. How to pay with PayPal
When you are buying an item you just have to press the button Buy, that you will find under the price on the listing. Make sure to check the details of the purchase and don't forget to accept the agreement. If you want you can send a message to the seller and then click on the button proceed to payment. Now all that is left to do is decide if you want to pay with a card (debit or credit) or if you would like to pay with PayPal, which we suggest you use because as a user of the Paypal service we receive the PayPal protection plan.
If you don’t have the existing PayPal account you are able to create it right at the checkout.

How to pay with a card
When you are buying an item you just have to press the button Buy, that you will find under the price on the listing. Make sure to check the details of the purchase and don't forget to accept the agreement. If you want you can send a message to the seller and then click on the button proceed to payment. Our paying services are powered by PayPal and they support Visa, Mastercard and American Express. All you have to do is to fill in your information about the card, the billing address and contact information. If you get any red alerts don’t forget to make sure that the information you have stated is correct. Lastly, all you have to do is click on the button Pay Now and the transaction will be completed.
How to configure your payment preferences in order to be able to receive the money
To set up your payment preferences just press the button payment settings, there are a few things you will have to do but it won’t take too long.
In order to be able to receive the payments, you will have to grant D4A permission to charge a transaction fee. You do that by clicking the button Connect your PayPal account
You will be directed to the PayPal site where you will have to log in, check that the information is correct and press the button Agree & continue, you will be directed back to the D4A site where you will receive a green message that your account has been successfully connected with D4A.
The second and final step is to grant D4A permission to charge a transaction fee. To grant the permission you'll have to click on the button Grant permission, and you will be directed to the PayPal site where you can read about what we are asking your permission to. All you need to do is click the orange button Grant permission and you will be directed back to the D4A site where you will receive the notification that everything is set up.
How to dispute a transaction
If you are experiencing any problems with your purchase don’t worry, everything can be worked out. Our D4A marketplace is connected with PayPal which means that our customers receive the benefits from the PayPal’s protection, which allows us to say with confidence that our customers can be at ease and know that their hard earned money is safe.
To dispute the transaction all you have to do is to log into your PayPal account and find the purchase that you want to dispute. At the bottom of the transaction details, you can find the Resolution centre where you’ll be able to report a problem. There you will have to provide the reason for the dispute and state some additional information. Once the dispute is opened the seller has to reply to the message you've sent. If there is no reply you will have to escalate the dispute into a PayPal claim if you forget to issue the claim your dispute will automatically close.

The dispute can be opened within 180 days after the payment date. Then the buyer and the seller will have 20 days to try and work things out on their own.
If the initial attempt to resolve the problem on your own isn’t successful you can escalate your dispute to a claim. But be aware that the claim has to be filed within the 20 days after the dispute was first opened. Then the team at PayPal will review the claim within 30 days or less and they’ll decide whether they will grant or revoke the claim.
There are some things you have to be careful about
When you are trying to purchase an item make sure that you are certain about the condition of an item you are buying. You can issue a claim in any case but it will only be covered if the item you have received is significantly different from the information on the listing.
For example, the listing says that the item is new and it is clearly showing signs of use or damage.
Can you be issued a refund?
Yes, sellers are able to issue a full or a partial refund. The seller needs to log into their PayPal account and find the right transaction, then they need to click on the full or partial refund depending on the case.
In the event of a full refund, the commission fee charged by D4A has to be refunded by us. And the fee charged by PayPal will be partially refunded, which means that the seller, buyer, and the D4A won't be refunded the fixed fee of 35 cents (0.35€).
